Meghan Markle, who sat on a Godmothers bookstore panel, seemingly corrected Courtney Adamo, who was promoting her book at the gathering.
"Awkward moment Meghan Markle interrupts bookstore speaking event to correct how her friend holds the microphone. Is she trying to be over smart?" one person asked on X.
"So incredibly rude, and yet so typical," another added.

Some onlookers viewed Meghan Markle's mannerisms as dismissive, while others defended her.
"She's slaying right now," one fan wrote.
"While Meghan is enjoying life, the royal scandal in Britain is raging on. Keep shining Meghan," another said.

Though Courtney Adamo said she was "nervous" to take the mic, Meghan Markle appeared to put her friend at ease.
"We've been friends since college, just so you know," the Suits star told the crowd while lightening the mood.

Despite sending the internet into a tizzy, Courtney Adamo expressed her gratitude for Meghan Markle.
"This was such an exciting career highlight for me to sit up on stage in the beautiful Godmothers Bookstore, in front of the most engaged and smiling audience, to share about our new book and to answer questions about how we can create a home for our family that is filled with joy and intention," Adamo wrote in an Instagram caption. "Thank you to @godmothersbooks for hosting and to my longtime friend Meghan for joining and supporting me. I hardly slept last night from all the excitement!"
