In Melania Trump's memoir, Melania, she claimed she and King Charles III have maintained an "ongoing [letter-writing] correspondence" for years. The U.S. First Lady alleged she and His Majesty first met in 2005, before Donald Trump became president.

In a passage from her 2024 book, Melania Trump raved about how Queen Elizabeth II "extended a warm welcome" to her and Donald Trump "treating us with the utmost hospitality" during their trips to England.

"As we bid farewell to Her Majesty [Queen Elizabeth II], we extended a cordial invitation for her return visit to the United States," Melania Trump wrote in the book. "She expressed her gratitude with a warm smile. Sadly, Her Majesty wasn't able to visit with us again before her death in 2022, but our friendship with the royal family continues, and we exchange letters with King Charles III to this day."

King Charles III and Melania Trump reunited during Donald Trump's state visit in 2025. "This is truly one of the highest honors of my life. I have such respect for you and such respect for your country for many decades," the Republican politician said during his speech at their lavish dinner.

Donald Trump continued to gush over the royal family. "Melania [Trump] and I are delighted to visit again with
Prince William and to see Her Royal Highness Princess
Kate [Middleton] so radiant and so healthy, so beautiful. It's really a great honor," he said.
