According to royal author Phil Dampier, Sarah Ferguson continued her friendship with Jeffrey Epstein despite his imprisonment for a child s*** offense. "To show how desperate she was and how out of touch with reality she was to go and see him and take her daughters [Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie] after he'd been convicted was utter madness," he told Daily Mail. "But I am afraid she has always had this reckless streak, and it's now coming home to roost."_
While Sarah Ferguson and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor both had strong ties to Jeffrey Epstein, Phil Dampier claimed the former Duchess of York connected her ex-husband to their joint pal. "As I understood it, she was probably responsible for introducing Andrew to Epstein in the first place. I am sure with Andrew the attraction was s** and with Fergie it was money. The moment she got any money, she would spend it," he said. "She is incapable of keeping any money and that's why someone like him who she could get money from was always going to lead her down the wrong path."_
As newly released emails from the U.S. Department of Justice show how tight Sarah Ferguson and Jeffrey Epstein were, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams believes she may be questioned by the American government. "She could be anywhere. Nobody knows where she is, but it's obvious day after day that we are getting pretty clear evidence she and Andrew [Mountbatten-Windsor] were hand in glove with Epstein," he told Daily Mail. "It's also possible she might be asked to testify in front of Congress. All of her emails point to a much closer relationship than we thought she had. With her greed knows no bounds."_
Despite Jeffrey Epstein's well-known crimes, Sarah Ferguson continued to be friends with him. "She swore at the time she was not in touch with Epstein, and we now know that is not true and that she spoke about him in the fondest terms," Richard Fitzwilliams said. "We now know from the evidence that Sarah and him were hand in glove as he liked having royals around him and as far as she was concerned, Epstein helped her with money. Money is at the root of this; there is no question about it. Andrew [Mountbatten-Windsor] and Sarah Ferguson wanted a certain lifestyle, and they surrounded themselves with dubious friends. Epstein was not only undesirable but a pedophile, and that did not seem to make any difference to her at all."_
In newly released emails from Sarah Ferguson to Jeffrey Epstein, she gushed over the financier and even spoke about Princess Eugenie's love life. "I have never been more touched by a friend's kindness than your compliment to me in front of my girls [Princess Beatrice and Eugenie]. Thank you, Jeffrey, for being the brother I have always wished for," she wrote in an August 3, 2009, message. When Epstein sent a 2010 email to the mother of two when she and her youngest child were going to be visiting New York, she gave an outlandish response. "Not sure yet. Just waiting for Eugenie to come back from a shagging weekend!!" she wrote, referring to the then-19-year-old spending time with her now-husband, Jack Brooksbank.
