Meghan Markle accidentally shared a video on social media that showed full glimpses of her children's faces. The clip chronicled a family outing to a pumpkin patch with her husband,
Prince Harry, and their kids,
Prince Archie and
Princess Lilibet. While the Duchess of Sussex — who usually covers her children's faces in social media posts or shows them from behind — quickly deleted the revealing footage, the damage had already been done: Fans, haters and various media outlets captured blurry screenshots of the kids before the video disappeared.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have attempted to hide their kids' faces from the public since the couple retired from their official royal duties in 2020. (Prince Archie was photographed at official engagements while his parents were still working members of the royal family.) The sudden slip-up caused at least one PR expert to question the timing and whether or not the "mistake" was actually a ploy to drum up attention for the mother of two's As Ever brand. "It's all a bit too convenient," the anonymous publicist told
The Royalist. "The clip gets attention, the internet explodes, and suddenly Meghan's brand rollout is on everyone's radar."

As
The Royalist pointed out, Meghan Markle and
Prince Harry are very controlling when it comes to their social media, and "the notion that their children's faces could appear by accident will strain credulity for some." Critics have also questioned why Meghan features her children in promotional materials for her business ventures at all — even with their faces obscured. "If privacy is paramount, it is reasonable to ask why their parents are posting images of [Prince] Archie and [Princess] Lilibet online in public forums,"
The Royalist noted.

Meghan Markle has claimed to take her children's right to privacy extremely seriously. The
Suits actress did not film her
With Love, Meghan series at their real home in Montecito, Calif., for example. "I wanted to protect that safe haven. We're a close-knit family, and I love those moments — putting [Princess] Lilibet down for a nap, having lunch together, having sacred time together at the end of the day," she
said.
