Though the first two episodes of "Inhumans" premiered Sept. 1, 2017, in IMAX theatres, the eight-episode season won't debut on ABC until Sept. 29. Marvel's latest TV series follows the Royal Family of the Inhumans after a military coup forces them out of their ancestral home of Attilan as they escape to Hawaii (can we escape there too?). But don't worry if you're not sure what the Royal Family is! Wonderwall.com has put together all the info you need to get to know the core cast and characters. Keep reading for more…
Black Bolt, the king
Black Bolt, the king and ruler of the Inhumans, possesses a powerful, quasi-sonic voice that can channel the electron energy around him to trigger a massive disturbance capable of destroying cities and knocking ships out of the skies. The enigmatic lead almost never speaks, since even his whispers can be dangerous. This characteristic will be an interesting challenge for actor Anson Mount, as he will have to communicate in other ways.

Anson Mount
Anson Mount is best known for his role on AMC's popular Western drama series "Hell on Wheels," on which he played Cullen Bohannon, the former Confederate colonel who's seeking revenge for his family. Anson, who has a master's degree in acting from Columbia University, made his TV debut on an episode of "Ally McBeal" in 1999, then appeared on "Sex in the City" the same year. In 2000, he made his feature film debut in the award-winning independent film "Tully." But his major breakthrough film role was as Britney Spears' co-star in "Crossroads," thanks to some convincing by his "City by the Sea" co-star Robert De Niro. Anson has since been seen in the films "In Her Shoes," "Safe" and "Non-Stop."

Medusa, the queen
Serinda Swan stars as Medusa, the queen of the Inhumans and her husband's most trusted adviser and interpreter. It's not surprising that she took the name of the mythological Greek sister who has living snakes in place of her hair. The Inhumans queen has long, thick red hair that she can psionically move like appendages in any way she wants, from binding people up to using it to get out of, dare we say, "hairy" situations by picking locks.
Serinda Swan
Serinda Swan is no stranger to the supernatural. The Canadian actress was cast as one of the electronic sirens in "TRON: Legacy," as the Greek goddess Aphrodite in "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" and also made guest appearances on TV shows "Supernatural" and "Smallville." But viewers might know her best in roles that are more human but just as bada– as Medusa, such as DEA special agent Paige Arkin on "Graceland" and expert tracker and bounty hunter Erica Reed on "Breakout Kings." Serinda is just as amazing as her characters. Not only did the actress star in her first motion picture, "Cousins," at the age of 3, but she's also a passionate activist for Friends to Mankind and works hard to raise awareness about human trafficking.
Maximus, the revolutionary
Iwan Rheon stars as Black Bolt's brother, the clever and charming Prince Maximus. He's passionately devoted to the people of Attilan and wants to revolutionize the caste system and free the people, which stir up some undeniable urges to take his brother's crown.
Iwan Rheon
Though Iwan Rheon is best known for playing cruel Ramsay Bolton on "Game of Thrones," the Welsh actor has had an impressive acting career. Iwan made his stage debut in "Eight Miles High" at the Royal Court in Liverpool, won the 2010 Olivier Award for best supporting actor in a musical for playing Moritz in "Spring Awakening," and took on the sharp and shy outcast Simon Bellamy on the BAFTA Award-winning superhero drama "Misfits." He also appeared in films and TV shows that are popular in his native Britain, including "Resistance" (his cinematic debut), "The Rise (Wasteland)," "Vicious," "Our Girl" and "Residue." Iwan is dating actress and musician Zoё Grisedale.
Gorgon, the guardian
Eme Ikwuakor stars as Gorgon, Black Bolt's cousin and the leader of the Attilan army. Gorgon is more of a fighter than a talker when it comes to solving problems. If you get in his way, watch out for his super-strong legs and hooves, which can produce devastating seismic waves with a single stomp.
Eme Ikwuakor
Like his character, Eme Ikwuakor is a powerhouse. After landing a track and field scholarship at the University of Colorado, Eme made his acting debut as Tom Robinson in a theater production of "To Kill a Mockingbird," which was a life-changing experience for him. Eme was also cast in the award-winning independent science fiction feature "Ink" as well as the TV series "Extant" and guest starred on "Outlaw," "Love Bites" and "Hawaii Five-O."
Karnak, the visionary
Ken Leung stars as Black Bolt's other cousin, Karnak, who is also a complicated character that often butts heads with Gorgon (the yin to Karnak's yang). Karnak serves as the king's adviser and strategist and has the ability to see everything (and we mean everything). But that power can come at a personal and even spiritual cost, as he's always fully aware of how flawed everything is.
Ken Leung
Ken Leung made his Broadway debut in the Tony Award-winning musical "Thoroughly Modern Millie" as Ching Ho, a Chinese immigrant who falls in love with the lead's best friend. Ken is best known for his roles as the eerie, psychic ghostbuster Miles Straume on "Lost" and as surgeon Dr. Topher Zia on "The Night Shift." He also appeared in "Rush Hour" (his first major role), "The Sopranos," "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" and, most recently, "The Good Wife." Fun fact: Ken studied physical therapy at NYU.
Crystal, the princess
Isabelle Cornish plays Crystal, Medusa's sister and the youngest (and most protected) member of the Royal Family. Crystal can be rash and independent, but she's devoted to her family. The princess's powers are pretty valuable on Earth, as she can control the four elements of fire, earth, water and air, from summoning strong enough wind currents to lift herself into the air to creating dangerous seismic tremors.
Isabelle Cornish
Isabelle Cornish went almost three years between jobs before landing her role as Crystal. The actress made her TV debut as a guest star on the drama series "Rescue Special Ops" in 2011 and is best known for playing troubled teenager Vicki on the "Puberty Blues" TV series. She also appeared on "Home and Away" and ABC's "Dance Academy." Isabelle was last rumored to be dating artist and surfer Mitch Revs, whom she met back home in Australia.
Triton, the operative
Mike Moh stars as Black Bolt's other cousin, Triton, who is a fish-like master of water. He can swim at great speeds and withstand high pressures, both literally and figuratively.
Mike Moh
Mike Moh, a world champion taekwondo competitor, got his big break in entertainment when he was hand-selected by Jackie Chan to appear in "Robin-B-Hood." Since then, he has worked as Ryu in the video game "Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist" and as publicist Steve Cho on "Empire."
Auran, the assassin
Though not a lot is known about Auran, the a woman fiercely loyal to the king of Attilan, the actress who plays her (Sonya Balmores) will be getting a lot more screen time on the TV series. Auran is the second in command of the Royal Guards on Attilan and is a skilled investigator. In the comic books, her large ears grant her the ability to hear and locate any word she chooses.
Sonya Balmores
Sonya Balmores was Miss Teen Hawaii and the first runner-up in the Miss Teen USA pageant in 2004. Her affinity for surfing comes through in her acting roles, from her debut movie, "The Break," to the TV series "Beyond the Break," and, more recently, as the supporting lead in "Soul Surfer," a film based on the true story of internationally ranked surfer Bethany Hamilton, who survived a shark attack. Sonya is married to fellow actor Kanoa Chung of Disney's "Rip Girls" fame.
Louise
Ellen Woglom stars as Louise, the only permanent cast member who is human and doesn't have superpowers. Louise is a smart and focused woman who dedicates herself to all things space and works at a private aerospace company. She is an original character created for the show and will be a key player in helping the Inhumans try to survive.
Ellen Woglom
Ellen Woglom is best known for her role as Claire Summers, a U.S. press attaché, on AMC's geopolitical drama "White Cities," as the hopeless romantic Mereta Sprows on NBC's "Outlaw," and as Chelsea Koons, the daughter of Hank's bosses, on "Californication." Her other credits include "Castle," "Scandal," "Criminal Minds," the award-winning drama "Hatred" and "April Showers," in which she played the lead. Ellen is married to ceramic artist Peter Sheldon and together they run Sheldon Ceramics in Los Angeles.
Lockjaw
We can't forget to include Lockjaw, Crystal's bulldog-like canine, in the Royal Family. The 2,000-pound, 6-foot-tall dog has the ability to teleport and serves as the family's loyal protector. Lockjaw poses one of the biggest CGI challenges on the series.
