Another day, another milestone that Nick Cordero is sadly missing.
On July 12, the late Broadway star's son, Elvis, whom he shared with wife Amanda Kloots, started preschool.
"I was doing fine but all of a sudden got super emotional. Another part of grief you have to face that you don't realize until the moment," Amanda wrote alongside a photo of the backpack she packed for two-year-old Elvis. "Nick should be here. We should be doing this together. Chin up. Brave face."
Elvis' first day of preschool comes just over a year after Nick passed away from COVID-19 on July 5, 2020.
On her Instagram Story, Amanda, a co-host of "The Talk," showed the lunch she packed for her son and jokingly admitted to being a "stage 5 clinger," as she didn't want her little man to leave.
Amanda also shared an adorable photo of Elvis holding up a sign to mark the occasion.
"First day of preschool!," Amanda wrote. She also included a string of different emojis, writing, "These were all of my emotions this morning."
Elvis' school day outfit? A matching shirt and shorts combination that featured smiley faces.
Just one day before preschool, Amanda and Elvis held a small vigil at California's Manhattan Beach. Video posted to Instagram shows them tossing flowers into the Pacific Ocean and praying.
Likely due to the date and the anniversary of Nick's untimely death, Amanda has been emotional of late. On July 9, she wrote about the fiercely deep connection she has to her preschool-bound son.
"I looked at Elvis the other day and I told him how proud I was of us. It's been a tough last year and we pulled through. I know he doesn't really know what has happened but I do know that part of him knows that we are a team, a pair of fighters in this ride together. There isn't anything I wouldn't do for him and not a day where I don't say 'I love you' at least 20 times. I'm proud of us," she said. "I don't think we say that to ourselves enough. In the midst of the chaos of life, we have to survive and thrive. Give yourself a pat on the back. Remember to be proud of yourself and say it aloud."
