"The Bachelor" alum Demi Burnett is revealing that an A-lister reached out to her after she came out as bisexual on "Bachelor in Paradise."
It was Ruby Rose.
"She DMed me one time and I almost died," the reality TV star said on the "We're Having Gay Sex" podcast. "It was really funny because she said, 'Hey,' and I was like, 'Oh my gosh, she's sliding in.' I was like, 'This is it.'"
Demi admits that she was "freaking out" when Ruby's name flashed across her screen, joking the former "Batwoman" star is the "catalyst of every girl that goes gay."
"I was like, 'Hi, what's up' or something, and she said, 'Sup,'" Demi recalled. "I was actually doing something cool, but it wasn't that cool, but I made it sound like it."
Ruby, it turns out, wasn't reaching out with romantic intentions. In fact, it was all a set up by their mutual friend… another A-lister.
"She's like, 'I was just messaging you because Demi Lovato told me to,'" Burnett said. "Demi [Lovato] was probably like, 'You should DM her, she's going to love it.' I was like, 'Oh my gosh, I thought she was hitting on me.'"
Demi rose to fame when she appeared on Colton Underwood's season of "The Bachelor" in 2019. While later appearing on "Bachelor in Paradise," Demi revealed she's bisexual and was dating Kristian Haggerty. The women got engaged during the season finale but split in October 2019. Demi went on to date Slater Davis. They reportedly split in June 2020.
