Dakota Johnson's post-high school life didn't exactly involve a flush bank account, particularly after her famous father, Don Johnson, cut her off.

While appearing on "Late Night With Seth Meyers," the "Miami Vice" legend spoke about his actress daughter and said she was off "the payroll" for refusing to go to college.
"The funny thing about her is—we have a rule in the family that, you know, if you stay in school, you get to stay on the payroll. So, you go to college, you get to stay on the payroll," Don, who has a rumored net worth of $50 million, said. "Towards the end of high school, I went to her and I said, 'So, do you want to go visit some colleges?' Or something like that. And she was like, 'Oh, no. I'm not going to college.'"
The actor recalls telling Dakota she "won't be on the payroll anymore," and she was fine with it. When he asked how she plans to take care of her bills, she told him, "Don't you worry about it."
Things worked out well… and early, too. Don said that Dakota, whom he shares with Melanie Griffith, locked down a minor role in "The Social Network" three weeks after that conversation.

Since then, Dakota, 31, has become a leading lady in Hollywood, having broken into the mainstream with her role as Anastasia Steele in the "Fifty Shades of Grey" series. She has an estimated net worth of about $14 million.
