Dionne Warwick pulled the plug on an upcoming show due to a mysterious "medical incident."
TMZ reported that the legendary singer has an issue with one of her legs, which forced her to cancel a June 24 concert at Rivers Casino Des Plaines outside Chicago.
"We regret to inform you that the Dionne Warwick performance on June 24, 2023 at Rivers Casino Des Plaines has been cancelled due to a medical incident," an email sent out to ticket holders said.
The message stated that all ticket purchases will be refunded, and it promised that Dionne would be back on stage soon. Dionne, for her part, told TMZ that she's on the mend but needed to some time off to get her health right and make sure she's 100%.
Dionne, 82, has had pretty good health over the years. She was hospitalized for almost two weeks in 2015 after she slipped and fell in her shower. She required ankle surgery following that incident.
In 2020, the "That's What Friends Are For" singer said she hardly ever exercises and eats whatever she wants.
"I'm not what you consider a healthy eater," she said. "I love McDonald's, I eat fried chicken… I loved everything my mother put in my mouth during my growing years, so I still imbibe those things."
In regard to fitness, she said that being on tour and running through airports is her form of cardio.
"I am too lazy to exercise, I really am," the six-time Grammy winner said. "You'd be surprised, you're using a lot of energy [while performing.] It's a lot of exercise. Where do I get the energy? I don't know, I don't think about it. I just do it. I love getting up on stage every night. The performance part is what I enjoy. I'll keep working until the joy goes out of what I do."
One thing Dionne is adamant about taking care of is her skin.
"I like me, so I take care of me. I take care of my skin," she said. "I don't put make-up on every day. My face is clear, free and able to breathe."
