Jeffrey Dean Morgan nearly quit acting in the early aughts after a "horrible" role: a Xindi-Reptilian on "Star Trek: Enterprise."

The actor has previously touched on his unhappiness with the one-time role with Entertainment Weekly, saying it "almost made me quit." While appearing on "Hot Ones" this week, Jeffrey expounded on his comment.
"That quote is on the nose, that feeling is on the nose, that job was on the nose, in a bad way," he said. "It turns out I'm claustrophobic. I had a really hard time doing the makeup process, I had straws in my nose."
"I've never been on a set where I went home at night and just thought, 'What am I doing, I've made the worst… decision of my life, I don't ever want to be an actor again,'" he said. "I was sure that this was just wrong and it almost made me quit. It was horrible."

Still, the 54-year-old continued to grind, and he eventually got his big break when he landed the role as Denny Duquette on "Grey's Anatomy." He immediately knew that this role was transformative.
"'Grey's Anatomy' I knew was something special. That's the one time that I saw my death coming and was trying anything I could to get out of that death," he said. "That character Denny and that love story with Izzie took the world by storm."
Jeffrey even "begged" creator Shonda Rhimes not to kill off his character because he knew how lucky he was to be on that show.
"I did, I begged her. That's what changed my life," he said. "Being Denny, where I never got out of bed, is why Zack Snyder hired me to be The Comedian [in 'The Watchmen']. That's how special that was."
