On Monday, May 23, Twitter erupted after Kylie Jenner shared an Instagram Story showing a chef dishing out comically-small pasta portions to wedding guests. The chef used a ladle and tongs while delicately placing the meager meal on the decorative plates.
"The pasta portion size at kourtney kardashian's wedding is the one of the saddest things i've ever seen," one person tweeted, which then set off a cascade of comments.
In referring to the forkful of pasta, one person said, "So, the wedding invitation did not have a typo when it said that one of the meal options was 'spaghetto.'" Another person called the small portion a "hate crime," whereas another called for "jail time" over the paltry pasta.
Another joked, "Cost of living crisis obviously affecting the Kardashians judging by the photos of Kourtney getting married in her undies and the single strand of pasta served at the reception."
Several people insisted they'd walk out in "protest" if given the meal.
However, many defenders were quick to assume that the bite-sized pasta portion was one of many courses being served at dinner.
"Italian weddings are ALL about variety and presentation. Also, that's 100% a PROPER serving of pasta," one person said. Another added, "I hate to engage in Kardashian discourse, but if they had a full Italian wedding dinner this is one of at least three pasta courses in the middle of a sweat-inducing multi-course food extravaganza."
