Score one for Tristan Thompson.
The NBA player was granted a $50,000 default judgment in his libel lawsuit against paternity accuser Kimberly Alexander, E! News reported.
Last year, the woman claimed Khloe Kardashian's ex fathered her 5-year-old son. Tristan denied that he was the father and even agreed to take a paternity test, which reportedly showed that he was not the father. At one point last year, Khloe and Tristan, via their attorney, sent her a cease and desist letter. Still, Kimberly pressed on and continued to publicly maintain that Tristan was the father.
Eventually, Tristan had had enough and filed a lawsuit against her. On June 22, she was ordered to pay the Boston Celtics player $50,000 in general damages and $2,901.95 in costs. Tristan originally requested $100,000 in damages for "loss of reputation, shame, mortification, and hurt feelings."
In the lawsuit, Tristan's lawyer said Kimberly "has persisted in publicly proclaiming that Thompson is her child's father and she has maliciously accused Thompson of being a deadbeat dad, 'neglecting' and failing to take financial responsibility for the child since birth."
He added, "To quote Michael Jackson, 'the kid is not [his] son.'"
Just last month the story took an odd turn when Kimberly implied that Khloe had reached out to her via Instagram. However, Kimberly soon admitted that the screen shot of the direct message was fake.
In her admission on June 1, Kimberly said on social media, "The post that I made yesterday was fake and I apologize for going about it the way I did. But I am genuinely fed up with the bogus energy and her acting like she never sees me asking for a second test."
At the same time, Khloe fired off a cease-and-desist letter to Kimberly. The legal letter claimed that despite admitting to faking the direct message, Kimberly "continued to make outrageous defamatory smears about Khloé, harassing her and trying to drag her into the paternity drama that you have persisted in contriving notwithstanding that a DNA test from one of the nation's top labs confirmed that Mr. Thompson is not the father of your child."
News of the default judgment comes on the heels of Khloe and Tristan's split.
