Donald Trump recently used the White House lawn as a Tesla showroom to support Elon Musk as the car company's stock continues to dwindle. He then purchased a new Tesla, but it turns out there are already major issues with his new ride.

Donald Trump praised Elon Musk on Tuesday, March 11, while talking with reporters: "I think he's been treated very unfairly by a very small group of people. And I just want people to know that he can't be penalized for being a patriot. And he's a great patriot, and he's also done an incredible job with Tesla," the president said.

Donald Trump gushed over the Tesla Cybertruck and a collection of other electric vehicles.
"As soon as I saw it, I said, 'That is the coolest design,'" he said,
However, the vehicle has had multiple recalls, is susceptible to rusting and was ranked worse than 91% of all 2024 vehicles.

Despite his preference for the Tesla Cybertruck, Donald Trump ended his press conference by purchasing a red Tesla Model S.
The president previously announced his plans to promote Elon Musk's company in a Truth Social post: "To Republicans, Conservatives, and all great Americans, Elon Musk is 'putting it on the line' in order to help our Nation, and he is doing a FANTASTIC JOB," the former reality star wrote.
"But the Radical Left Lunatics, as they often do, are trying to illegally and collusively boycott Tesla, one of the World's great automakers, and Elon's 'baby,' in order to attack and do harm to Elon, and everything he stands for," he continued.

Donald Trump handpicked Elon Musk to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), but the tech entrepreneur's allegiance to the Trump administration hasn't been well received.
"They tried to do it to me at the 2024 Presidential Ballot Box, but how did that work out? In any event, I'm going to buy a brand new Tesla tomorrow morning as a show of confidence and support for Elon Musk, a truly great American," Trump wrote.
"Why should he be punished for putting his tremendous skills to work in order to help MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN?" he added.

In his State of the Union Address, Donald Trump praised Elon Musk's work with DOGE.
"To further combat inflation, we will not only be reducing the cost of energy, but we'll be ending the flagrant waste of taxpayer dollars," the president announced.
"And to that end, I have created the brand-new Department of Government Efficiency – DOGE. Perhaps you've heard of it — perhaps — which is headed by Elon Musk, who is in the gallery tonight," he said.

Donald Trump was grateful for Elon Musk's work despite the criticism.
"Thank you, Elon. He's working very hard. He didn't need this. He didn't need this. Thank you very much. We appreciate it. Everybody here — even this side — appreciates it, I believe. They just don't want to admit that," he said.
