Comedian Chris Kattan has broken his silence following his DUI arrest on Monday, insisting "exhaustion" was to blame for his erratic behavior.
The "A Night at the Roxbury" star was pulled over by police near Van Nuys, Calif., after his vehicle was spotted "weaving all over the roadway," according to TMZ.
Kattan reportedly swerved into a cordoned-off section of the road and struck another car from behind, and he was subsequently booked for DUI.
Hours later, Kattan took to Twitter to assure fans he was fine and back home after being released from custody.
He wrote, "Those concerned or just adding gossip: I'm fine, passed all tests, released without bail, have drivers license, cop offered to drive me home."
The former "Saturday Night Live" regular added: "I just got back from a 15hr flight after touring out of the country. I was exhausted. The Police were so kind. I'm lucky nobody was hurt."
A spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol tells TheWrap.com that Kattan was charged for a misdemeanor and submitted to a chemical toxicology test, but the results will not be available for a few more weeks.
Since it was his first offense, the comedian was released without bail, and he is scheduled to appear before a judge the first week in March.
