Erin Brockovich is in hot water. The legal advocate, who was played by Julia Roberts in the 2000 movie, Erin Brockovich, was arrested for DUI after she allegedly operated her boat while under the influence on Friday, June 7. TMZ was first to report the arrest.
According to the site, the Nevada Department of Wildlife said that one of their game wardens observed Brockovich, 52, "struggling to dock her boat" at Lake Mead, which is located near Las Vegas, Nev.
When the warden attempted to offer assistance, he noticed she "exhibited several signs of an intoxicated boater."
An investigation found that Brockovich's blood alcohol content was twice the legal limit of .08 and she was arrested for OUI, or operating under the influence.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that she was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on Friday and posted $1,000 bail.
Brockovich, mom of three, changed her last name to Brockovich-Ellis following her marriage in 1999. Roberts, 45, won a best actress Oscar in 2001 for her portrayal in the film.
