Friday Night Fans rejoice!
The cult TV hit may have wrapped its run in July, but plans are falling into place to use the big screen to pick up right where the East Dillon Lions left off.
"We're very serious about trying to do it," the NBC/DirecTV drama's executive producer Peter Berg -- who directed the 2004 Billy Bob Thornton film and brought it to TV -- told reporters at a Monday Television Critics Association panel.
Produced by Universal Pictures, the project would center around series stars Connie Britton and Kyle Chandler, whose Tami and Coach Taylor left Texas in the TV finale so Tami could work as the Dean of Admissions at Braemore College in Pennsylvania.
A 2012 start date is being eyed for the Friday Night Lights film.
