For Brad Pitt, it was a typical encounter in his busy life as an international superstar. For British bride and groom Abi and Daniel Lingwood, it was a moment they will be telling their grandchildren about.
The newly shorn actor graciously posed with the happy couple after they spotted him at the bar of the swanky Stoke Park Hotel, in the English village of Stoke Poges, during their wedding reception last Friday. Pitt is filming the World War II tank drama "Fury" at the nearby Pinewood Studios.
"My husband said to me Brad Pitt was at the bar and you have got to come with me, so he dragged me across the hotel," the bride tells the awkwardly named Maidenhead Advertiser. "I thought he was joking."
Rather than being annoyed by having his me-time interrupted, the A-lister, who's flying solo while fiancée Angelina Jolie is in Australia with their brood, agreed when asked if he'd take a picture with the newlyweds.
"He said 'sure, no problem," and said 'congratulations' and 'I hope you have had a great day' and 'let's have a picture,'" Abi recalls. "And he said I looked nice. He was really nice."
It didn't take long for the female guests to go "wild and mental" at their proximity to Pitt. "It has become more of a talking point than my wedding," explained Abi, "but that is fine."
