Has Johnny Depp plunked down a mountain of his "Pirates of the Caribbean" profits for a massive Nashville estate? According to Real Estalker, the A-lister snapped up a lavish-bordering-on-garish mansion that was on the market for a whopping $17.5 million, although he purportedly scored a deal on it.
The chandelier-stuffed, 19,000-square-foot home features four bedrooms, seven baths, nine fireplaces, an elevator, a wood-paneled library, a seven-car garage and a living room and entry that Louis XVI would deem far too ornate.
The mansion's gaudiness seems at odds with Depp's preferred high-end hobo look, and we're having a hard time picturing the laid-back star relaxing amid this many Oriental rugs.
On the plus side, the property's 47 acres offer plenty of room to roam, especially given talk that he bought rumored squeeze Amber Heard a horse so that she could join him on rides while he was shooting "The Lone Ranger." He also has plenty of fellow celebrities around him in Music City, including Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, and Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban.
If Johnny does turn out to be the new owner, the Nashville outpost joins an impressive real estate portfolio that includes a French chateau, a private Caribbean island, a house in Paris and multiple Los Angeles properties. In September, he reportedly purchased a $4.4 million Hollywood Hills home for his ex-partner, Vanessa Paradis, and their two kids.
