If you've got it, flaunt it! Sexy, glam mom of twins Jennifer Lopez may have access to some of the best Gucci, Roberto Cavalli and Dolce & Gabbana designer pieces in the world, but the "Live It Up" singer says she's still Jenny from the Block -- at least when it comes to her wardrobe. "I take references from where I grew up in the Bronx, like sneakers and sweat suits, and put a modern spin on them," Lopez, who designs a namesake collection for Kohl's, tells Us Weekly.
Rarely spotted out and about off-stage without her stiletto booties and gold hoop earrings, Lopez -- who shares twins Max and Emme with ex Marc Anthony -- sticks with what works when going through her closet. "She loves classic silhouettes with a seductive twist -- a thigh-high slit, leopard print," says Mariel Haenn, one of Lopez's stylists. Adds costylist Rob Zangardi: "It's all about form-fitting dresses that show off her legs or derriere!"
Want to copy Lopez's sexy, glam style for summer? Take a cue from the hot mama and try these three easy tips:
1. Show Some Skin -- in Moderation! On May 6, Lopez wowed in a Michael Kors animal print gown and Dana Rebecca earrings for New York City's annual Met Gala. Hugging her curves in all the right places, the backless long-sleeve gown added extra oomph to Lopez's night-out ensemble.
2. Mix High and Low: "She loves Topshop," Zangardi says of the star (in the brand's sweater and Gucci heels April 7.) One of Lopez's most loved high-end pieces? Her 14-karat-gold, diamond and emerald ring ($2,500, effyjewelry.com)
3. Try Contrasting Tones: Though Lopez loves her old standby wardrobe staples, the singer/actress isn't afraid to mix things up to create the perfect ensemble. One recent style hit: The Dolce & Gabbana silk blouse she tucked into Michael Kors wide-leg trousers May 15. "I like when it looks easy!" Lopez has said of her style.
