Every year a celebrity of influence is chosen to plan the entire The Art of Elysium Heaven Gala from scratch. And when rocker Linda Perry recently got word that she had been selected as the 2014 visionary, she told Wonderwall that she was seriously stunned!

"I was completely in shock," the modest record producer revealed, "I was so confused because it just seemed bigger than me. I'm nobody! I don't understand why they would choose me."
Well, according to The Art of Elysium founder Jennifer Howell, the decision to make the "Life in a Bottle" singer a visionary was an easy one. (Keep in mind that Linda will be following in the big footsteps of previous visionaries like Colleen Atwood and Shepard Fairey.)
"I always just try to think about people who have given to the world something unique and special in their chosen field," the charity's creator explained of her selection. She added, "That's like Linda: Between producing and writing songs and performing, I just feel like she's covered a lot of ground in her creativity."
After overcoming her initial bewilderment, the rock star got down to business and started planning the 7th annual fete, which she says will be "one of the best."

"They obviously think I'm a visionary, so I'm going to give them a show they're not going to forget," the former 4 Non Blondes member gushed of the party, which will feature an all-vegan menu. She went on, "I'm going to put all of myself into this!"
Wondering what the Grammy winner has in store for the night's star-studded entertainment lineup?
Linda, along with Evan Rachel Wood, Steven Tyler, Gingger Shankar, Micah Sheiner, and the Smokin' Nights, are all set to perform just one song each at the grand gala.
"I like it short and sweet," she said of the planned concert. "I like to be hit hard, so that's what I'm going to do. In a very gentle way, I'm going to hit everybody very hard."
Linda, who's engaged to actress Sara Gilbert, may have a lot of work on her hands leading up to the big night on Jan. 11, but at the end of they day she knows it's all for a good cause.

"This is beyond me. It has nothing to do with me," she concluded. "This is about kids. This is about bringing awareness. This is about getting people to understand what true beauty looks like and feels like, sounds like."
The 7th Annual The Art of Elysium Heaven Gala will be held on Jan. 11 in Los Angeles, with expected guests like Kate Bosworth, Kirsten Dunst, Topher Grace, Ali Larter, Ashlee Simpson and Elijah Wood. Don't forget to checkout Wonderwall's exclusive pics from the red carpet following the bash!
