At the time the Australian actor, 24, was seeing his star rise in two hit "Hunger Games" films as the conflicted Gale Hawthorne, and Cyrus, 21, was in the middle of her craziest year with the release of her album "Bangerz," her world tour, and her new wild child post-VMAs image.
It seemed that the "Last Song" costars had since moved on from their two year engagement, but in a new interview with Australia's "Sunday Night" television show, Cyrus hinted that there will always be something between her and the "Paranoia" star.
"I love Liam; Liam loves me," she told "Sunday Night" (via the Daily Mail) of her ex.
When asked about her hit ballad "Wrecking Ball," believed by many to be about Hemsworth, the former Disney star said, "It's about finding yourself. I had to set myself free."
And when it comes to her fashion choices and sexier image, Cyrus has no qualms.
"I never think about what someone is going to think," she said. "I've always been into fashion. I grew up around Dolly Parton, who is all ... tits."
