Carrie Underwood is doing a whole lot of pearl-clutching over suggestions that she's planning to move in with her hockey player beau, Mike Fisher.

"No, call me old-fashioned. He's there. I'm here," the cutie-pie country crooner, 26, assures Ellen DeGeneres on Wednesday's show (via People). "We're both doing our thing and it's good. The next guy I move in with will be my hubby. Whoever that is. I'm not saying it's going to be him."

Carrie reveals that her nearly year-old romance with the Ottawa Senators center, 29, is her longest to date ("I joke and say my dogs are the longest relationship ever," she adds), but she fesses up that the love connection almost didn't happen.

"We had a friend, one of my band members was trying to hook us up," she says. "He was like, 'I have this guy for you.' I was like, 'Oh, that's great. What does he do?' 'He plays hockey.'"

Her response: thumbs down.

Underwood also turned her digit downward when she asked if Fisher still had his own teeth. "No, but, he's got his really good dentist,'" said her pal.

And her thumb again tipped over when she discovered he was based north of the border: "I love Canada, but that is a long-distance relationship."

Despite being dentally and geographically undesirable, Fisher won her over.

"We see each other more than people think we see each other," shares Carrie. "We don't go out, like, publicly. We just do our thing."

When Ellen ribs her by jokingly pointing out, "Well, you've been with him for a year so it seems like you'll marry him and have babies," Underwood shrugs, "Apparently. I don't know."

By the way, this was the singer's second co-habitation denial in less than a week. She also shot down the rumors on her Web site, insisting, "Neither one of us would ever do that. I would never live with my boyfriend ... Not my style."

Something that's more Underwood's style is mooning over Fisher in the liner notes of her new release, "Play On."

"Thank you, #12. You are the most amazing addition to my life! You are such a wonderful person and have had such an amazing hand in the building of this album and in the growth of me as a person," she gushed. "I love you so much! You make my life better in every way! I thank God for you every day."
