The late Princess Diana made an unforgettable impression upon nearly everyone she encountered.
That included Laurentia Tan, who met the iconic royal at her school in Singapore back in 1989 -- and had the chance to look back on the moment with Diana's eldest son, Prince William, at a Thursday reception held at the British High Commissioner's residence.
Tan, 33, who has cerebral palsy, won the silver and bronze medal in the dressage at the Paralympics in London, and told William, 30, about the meeting 23 year ago, when Diana visited the Knollmead Primary School in Tulworth.
William smiled at the memory of his mom, and replied, "Fantastic. I'm not as impressive as her."
Laurentia's mother Jennie tells Us Weekly the conversation was "the icing on the cake of a wonderful year for my daughter. Laurentia had a rabbit at school – and they named it William after the prince."
Close by William's side was his wife, Duchess Kate Middleton. "Kate looked absolutely stunning," Jennie Tan raved. The 30-year-old future Queen wore a blue, white and red chiffon Erdem dress with pleated skirt, exposed back and loose-fitting sleeves and stacked four-inch heels.
Chatting with dignitaries, The couple noshed on canapes but sipped only water during the event (both are on malaria medication as precaution during their Asian tour).
When their day of appearances was done, the royal couple managed to carve out some romantic alone time, returning to the Raffles Hotel for a private dinner date.
