Reba McEntire and her husband and manager Narvel Blackstock are splitting!
After 26 years of marriage, the couple announced their separation in a joint statement on Aug. 3. They also revealed that they've actually been separated for the past several months.
"Despite this being the end of their marriage, they continue to support each other," the former couple said in a statement from Big Machine Label Group, Reba record label. "They have worked together for 35 years and will continue to do so. They have asked that you respect their privacy during this time."
A representative for Reba declined to comment on whether they are planning to divorce. The couple has one son together, race car driver Shelby Blackstock. Narvel has three other children, as well.
"I love those beautiful children with all my heart," she told AARP in 2012. "We don't use the word step."
Narvel runs a management company that represents McEntire, Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson. Reba and Narvel have reportedly worked together for 35 years.
Reba rarely spoke openly about her husband, but she did speak to AARP about her work relationship with Narvel. "Narvel became my manager because everybody kind of patted me on the head and said, 'You've done it. Good girl,'" she said. "They assumed I had peaked. Narvel was like, 'Oh, no, no, no, no, no. Here's what we could do.'"
She even spoke briefly about how they kept their relationship spontaneous.
"Narvel will go, 'OK, we've got three days; where do you want to go?' We keep it interesting," she said.
Reba did not address the split on Twitter on Aug. 3, instead using social media to say that she'll have a new single announcement this week.
