When Whitney Port signed on to star in the "Hills" spinoff, "The City," she had no idea how hard being a reality star could be.

"I break down a couple of times a week, at least," she says in the May issue of Cosmopolitan. "It gets overwhelming. Sometimes I think that I can't take this anymore. I just want to live a normal life."

Although she hasn't shown too many tears on screen, Port, 24, has had her share of drama on the set of the MTV show.

Most recently, she split with her Australian musician boyfriend, Jay Lyon, and stood up to her frenemy, conniving coworker Olivia Palermo.

"Olivia kind of mothers me and looks at me as a pet project, but I'm like, "I'm not some country bumpkin - I'm from Los Angeles!"

With the first season of "The City" over - MTV has picked it up for a second season - Port's L.A. cohorts will kick off the premiere of "The Hills"' fifth season on April 6.
