"Sister Wives" star Kody Brown is in a world of financial trouble, and it could get worse for him.
According to documents published in Life & Style magazine, the polygamist has a six-figure debt and all four of his wives -- Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn -- "are done with him."
His money woes are hitting hard at his wives, especially Robyn, according to a family friend.
Kendra Pollard told the mag that Robyn's son Dayton "had a horrific ATV accident and had to go through extensive surgery to repair his face." Insurance covered a little bit of the expenses, Kendra said, but eventually a "very, very large" hospital lien was put on Robyn's Las Vegas home for unpaid medical bills.
The debt was finally settled in August 2015.
In addition to medical bills, Kody could be seeing his reality show going away, severely impacting his wallet. The ratings for "Sister Wives" have been dropping and the show's network, TLC, has reportedly considered pulling the plug.
Kody, the mag reports, is well aware of the financial windfall that the show creates for him and is trying to figure out ways to keep the audience interested, even considering trying to add another wife into the mix.
Kendra said, "He's been under so much pressure because his entire livelihood depends on 'Sister Wives.'"
In June, Life & Style reported that Kody "set his sights" on Robyn's step niece to join his harem. The women were reportedly not pleased.
Robyn "can't believe he would betray her like that," a source told the magazine at the time. "The fight over wife number five got so bad and the four wives were so disgusted by the idea they just left."
"He's doing whatever it takes to save the show," the source continued. "He wants a younger female with a hot little body - which Robyn was at first. Now she believes, 'Oh maybe I am replaceable. Maybe I have gained some weight.'"
