In a
video of the royal family departing church services, Prince George was confronted with an odd comment about
Princess Diana. "George, I've got something to say to you. Granny Diana would be ever so proud of you," the fan told the future king of England.

Social media users were outraged by the invasive remark to Prince George about Princess Diana. "They handled it very well, but honestly, why would you say that to children you have no relationship with, about their late grandmother who you never met?" one person wrote on X.
"I find this utterly bizarre," a second chimed in.
"I agree…. speaking for a dead person neither him nor the grandson knew is weird AF. Let his dad [Prince William] tell him that," a third added.

While Prince George didn't seem bothered by the comment, expert
Richard Fitzwilliams believes it wasn't appropriate. "People have different perceptions and memories of senior royals. As part of growing up, George will appreciate that what members of the public say, sometimes innocently, are often not predictable," he told
Daily Express.

As Prince George grows up, he'll have a better understanding of the public's love for his family. "This was obviously a comment made by an admirer of Princess Diana and well-intentioned," Richard Fitzwilliams said. "It's part, really, of a learning curve for George in a far less formal society than King Charles III or Queen Elizabeth II grew up in and over which his father is preparing to rule."
