The Beatles-"Lord of the Rings" Connection

Strange but true: Back in the Day, there was talk of the Beatles starring in a Stanley Kubrick-directed movie version of "Lord of the Rings." Crazy, right? Comics blog Super Punch was tickled enough by the idea that it held a worldwide contest, asking readers to design a poster, concept art, a tie-in toy or some other products for this might-have-been movie. The entrants haven't been posted yet, but some of the artists have posted their own takes. Check out the awesome Abbey Road/Tolkien fusion. (Zero Lives)
