Buckingham Palace announced Princess Anne's husband, Timothy Laurence, was made a Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order. The royal family is currently in Scotland for the summer, and Laurence was reportedly vested by King Charles III in a private ceremony at their home there: Balmoral Castle.

Sir Timothy Laurence was reportedly both "honored and delighted" by the honor. The non-working member of the royal family is expected to wear the insignia of the Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order at a state banquet for Donald Trump at Windsor Castle in the fall.

Sir Timothy Laurence and Princess Anne wed in 1992. Her son from her first marriage, Peter Phillips had said his stepfather is a "very strong support" for the Princess Royal. Even though Laurence isn't a working member of the royal family, Anne is often celebrated for being the hardest working royal.
