The former First Daughter, 32, has been camping out in her $4 million Manhattan apartment without electricity and hot water since Oct. 29. She and her husband, Marc Mezvinsky, are among the hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers who were left in the dark when superstorm Sandy tore through the East Coast earlier this week. But unlike some others, who have sought shelter in hotels or with friends and family, the tight twosome (and their dog Soren!) are staying put.

"Marc, Soren and I are at home with candles, kindles and canned food!" she tweeted Monday. "Any must-read recommendations for waiting out a storm?"

The next morning, she posted a photo of the city as seen from the couple's apartment in NYC's Flatiron neighborhood. "Thoughts w/ all impacted by storm, grateful most safe. Our view last night #NoSkyline," she wrote. "Remains dark inside too."

A small number of Manhattanites saw their power come back on early Friday morning, but Clinton and her former investment banker husband, 33 -- whom she married in 2010 after five years of dating -- were not among them. Fortunately, the pair are finding other ways to lighten the mood in their darkened pad.

"Although we still don't have power, @Starbucks holiday cup & the barista's smile brightened my day - thank you!" she tweeted, later adding, "It's the little things!"
