During a press conference with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, February 13, Trump welcomed commentators from the region.
"Please go ahead," Trump said to someone in the audience. "Please go ahead. Yeah, Yeah. Blue shirt."
"You're going to have to go louder," Trump told the professional while gesturing for him to speak up.
However, once the man spoke at a higher volume, the commander-in-chief still struggled to interpret the question.
"I can't understand a word he's saying," Trump noted.
The reality star was unable to comprehend the individual, but his question was caught on camera.
"Thank you, Mr. President. People in India will naturally welcome your decision to extradite the subordinate to India back home," the journalist told Trump.
Rana, who was convicted for his role in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, was cleared by Trump for extradition to India.
"In that context, I would like to ask you a question about in the last few years, we have seen several groups in the U.S. being raising anti-India voice calling about separation terrorism activities in India," the reporter noted. "Do you think that should continue here in the U.S. as well?"
It's unclear if there was an audio issue or if Trump struggled with the man's accent.
However, a week prior, Trump had a similar interaction with Afghan White House journalist Nazira Karimi, who asked Trump about the country's plans for the region.
"It's a beautiful voice and a beautiful accent," Trump said. "Only problem is I can't understand a word you're saying. But, but I just say this. Good luck, live in peace."
Despite the snafus, Modi praised Trump's politics.
"Borrowing an expression from America, our vision for a developed India is to make India great again, or MIGA," Modi's translator stated. "When America and India work together, that is, when it's MAGA plus MIGA, it becomes a mega partnership for prosperity."
"And it is this mega spirit that gives new scale and scope to our objectives."
