Donald Trump might be hoping he will receive a Nobel Peace Prize nomination for his efforts to end the war between Russia and Ukraine.During a meeting with the president, a reporter asked Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre if Trump was deserving of the honor.

"Mr. Prime Minister, I was wondering whether you think that Donald Trump, for his activity in Ukraine and otherwise, deserves to be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize?" the reporter asked."Well, I salute President Trump for having – taking very important initiatives to get this conflict towards an end, which both parties deserve," Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre replied. "We need to have a ceasefire, save lives and move towards something which is more secure for Europe, for the people concerned. And on that we work together. And I look forward to going into some details."

Donald Trump later took to Truth Social to condemn Vladimir Putin's approach to the conflict in Ukraine."I am not happy with the Russian strikes on KYIV. Not necessary, and very bad timing," Trump wrote on Thursday, April 24. "Vladimir, STOP! 5000 soldiers a week are dying. Lets get the Peace Deal DONE!"

While sharing updates on Truth Social, Donald Trump shared his disappointment with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky: "Ukraine, headed by Volodymyr Zelensky, has not signed the final papers on the very important Rare Earths Deal with the United States," Trump told followers on Friday, April 25."It is at least three weeks late," he continued. "Hopefully, it will be signed IMMEDIATELY. Work on the overall Peace Deal between Russia and Ukraine is going smoothly. SUCCESS seems to be in the future!"
