Cory Mills, who works in Washington, D.C., rents a luxurious $20,833 per month penthouse apartment overlooking the Potomac River. According to a listing, the building — while Naomi Biden previously occupied — boasts "access through private elevators for discrete comings and goings" as well as the services and amenities "of a world-class hotel." The high-rise's decor includes "bold Italian cabinetry" and "Calacatta quartz countertops."

Cory Mills' landlord alleges he's fallen behind by $85,000 in rent payments. According to documents filed in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, the building's owner claims the right-winger stopped paying his bill in March. Within the eviction papers, the landlord alleges that since Mills started occupying the apartment in June 2023, he's been late on paying his rent a dozen times. A hearing in the eviction case is set for September.

Cory Mills fought back against the allegations,
taking to X to slam the journalist who first reported on the issue and sharing screenshots of emails he sent to his landlord informing them that the payment portal link was broken. "I know facts are unusual and unfamiliar thing for you. But here's just the past two months where you can see I'm repeatedly asking for payment links and again as I tried with management today, it failed to process," the conservative politician wrote. The screen-grabbed messages were dated June 17 and July 3. Mills' office also issued
a statement on the matter, claiming the civil servant "has been in contact with his landlord from the beginning, attempting to resolve their payment link issue so he can pay his bill."
