"[Thomas] Massie is weak, ineffective, and votes 'NO' on virtually everything put before him (Rand Paul, Jr.), no matter how good something may be," Donald Trump wrote on
Truth Social on Sunday, June 22. "Massie should drop his fake act and start putting America First, but he doesn't know how to get there — he doesn't have a clue! … MAGA should drop this pathetic LOSER, Tom Massie, like the plague!"

Donald Trump later noted that he hopes to support Thomas Massie's political opponent in the next election: "The good news is that we will have a wonderful American Patriot running against him in the Republican Primary, and I'll be out in Kentucky campaigning really hard," he wrote.

Thomas Massie is known for his more libertarian politics. He previously opposed a $2 trillion emergency Covid-19 relief initiative. Now, Massie is working with Ro Khanna to roll out a war powers resolution: "I represent part of the coalition that elected President [Donald] Trump. We were tired of endless wars in the Middle East, and tired of wars in Eastern Europe," Massie shared. "They should have called us all back. And, frankly, we should have debated this war powers resolution that Ro Khanna and I offered, instead of staying on vacation and doing fundraisers, and saying, 'Oh, well, the president's got this under control, we're going to cede our constitutional authority.'"

Donald Trump and Thomas Massie have a history of disagreeing, and the president isn't interested in supporting politicians who don't align with his vision: "MAGA is not about lazy, grandstanding, nonproductive politicians, of which Thomas Massie is definitely one," he wrote. "He's a simple minded 'grandstander' who thinks it's good politics for Iran to have the highest level Nuclear weapon, while at the same time yelling 'DEATH TO AMERICA' at every chance they get. Iran has killed and maimed thousands of Americans."

This wouldn't be the first time Donald Trump shamed a Republican for standing against him, as the real estate tycoon shamed Rand Paul for opposing the One Big Beautiful Bill.
