Make way for Miley!
Miley Cyrus nearly blended into the crowd shopping in NYC's fashionably grungy East Village on Thursday, showing off her new punk hairstyle and an edgy wardrobe to match. Her new, much platinum blonde strands disheveled, Cyrus showcased her slim figure in super-short shorts and black tee, with a camouflage jacket tied around her waist. Cyrus -- who accessorized her ensemble with chunky gold jewelry -- walked the city blocks in black leather combat boots.
Lopping off her locks with the help of Jennifer Aniston's hair stylist, Chris McMillan, in early August, the 19-year-old has found her daring new look to be quite the topic of conversation.
Though some in Hollywood -- like Tyler the Creator -- have slammed her look, others, including Ellen DeGeneres, Kathy Griffin and Paris Jackson have praised and even copied her 'do. "I don't know why people keep hating on Miley's new cut . . . I love it!" Michael Jackson's 14-year-old daughter Paris tweeted of Cyrus. "She's being herself and she's being different and I love her for that!"
Keeping fans up to date on her latest looks via frequent Twitter photos, Cyrus -- engaged to Hunger Games' Liam Hemsworth -- isn't bothered by the brouhaha.
"My dad Billy Ray Cyrus used to tell me, 'opinions are are like a--holes --everybody has one.' LOVE my hair," Cyrus recently tweeted. "Feel so happy, pretty, and free."
