Surprisingly enough, Katy Perry and John Mayer are still a thing, and they're solid enough that she's now invited to important family events. On Sunday, the crooner was best man at his brother's wedding at a New York yacht club, and he brought the doll-faced chart-topper along as his date, reports the New York Post.
To their credit, the famous flames made sure the focus stayed on the happy couple. One way Perry accomplished this: keeping out of a camera range.
"They were very polite and down-to-earth and didn't want to take away from the bride and groom's day," relays an eyewitness. "Katy stayed behind the scenes and politely turned down photos. It was a beautiful ceremony on the water."
Perry and Mayer got into the nuptial spirit and boogied down on the dance floor, which was quite a feat of endurance considering they were partying until the wee hours the night before. They hit a post-"Saturday Night Live" bash to celebrate Katy's performance and apparently couldn't keep their hands off each other.
"[They] were beyond affectionate and adorable," a spy tells Us Weekly of the couple's night at Manhattan's Heartland Brewery, where they hung with the likes of Bruce Willis and Lorne Michaels. "He was rubbing her back, then pulled her in for an intimate close chat. She put her hand inside his jacket, and they were kissing and gazing into each other's eyes."
They reportedly called it a night around 3 a.m.
