According to royal author
Duncan Larcombe,
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's value has decreased since they spilled all their royal secrets. "Effectively, they've sold themselves out, but they've run out of truth bombs," the author told
The Mirror. "If they're not making headlines and, more importantly, if viewers are turning off in their droves, then companies like Netflix are ruthless and they're not going to carry them just because they're the Duke and Duchess of Sussex."

After agreeing to a downgraded Netflix deal and Meghan Markle's As Ever brand facing numerous hurdles, she and
Prince Harry will have to be successful in their next venture. "They have to figure something out because the number of projects they've announced since they left the U.K. that have hit the ground and been a success is actually quite small," Duncan Larcombe said. "They've had quite a few failures."

"If they [
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle] go on to lose all of their Netflix deal, it's going to come as a very bitter blow to them," Duncan Larcombe said. "Largely, it's been a success story for them personally since they stepped down as working royals. But if it means selling the family silver, you don't want to get into a situation where you don't make full money for it."

As rumors swirl about a possible reconciliation between
Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their relatives, Duncan Larcombe believes it would be best for the couple's brand to bury the hatchet. "Harry needs to reconcile with family as well because that's where their Netflix deal comes from — it's their access to the royal family," he said.

While
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly set to return to England for the Invictus Games, experts doesn't think the royals will be ready to make amends. "I don't think we would see the working royals even acknowledge their presence," royal expert
Kinsey Schofield told
Fox News Digital. "The Sussexes' credibility has been bruised over the last few years, and the royals want to keep their distance. She [Meghan] felt rejected by Harry's family and country and wants to focus on her U.S. aspirations."
