Marriage change
After a violative split amid cheating claims, Michelle Branch and fellow Grammy winner Patrick Carney are putting their divorce on hold. Michelle and the Black Keys drummer filed to suspend divorce proceedings for six months to work on their marriage, People magazine confirmed on Sept. 14. "I'm still living in it right now and it's still changing by the hour," Michelle, who has two kids with Patrick, told the magazine before the reconciliation attempt was made public. She also told talk show host Tamron Hall in an interview that aired one day later, "My husband and I have started therapy recently, and I wish that we had started it six months ago. I wish that we had gotten help and talked to someone sooner," adding, "If there's anyone out there watching … this is your sign. If you've been thinking about it, go talk to someone."

Paying their respects
Queen Elizabeth II left Buckingham Palace for the last time on Sept. 14. Via a horse-drawn gun carriage, the late monarch's coffin made its way through the streets of London to Westminster Hall, where she will lie in state until her funeral on Sept. 19, which will be a worldly affair. Thousands of mourners lined the streets to view the procession and on Sept. 15, the line to view her coffin stretched for four miles.

New day, new baby, new mama
Here we go again. Nick Cannon has welcomed his ninth child… this time with former "The Price is Right" model Lanisha Cole. Lanisha, who was once a lead in Pharrell Williams' "Frontin'" music video, never hid her pregnancy, but she didn't reveal the identity of her child's father until Sept. 14 on Instagram. The duo named their daughter Onyx Ice Cole Cannon. "Once again Today I am in Awe of the Devine Feminine!" Nick wrote on social media. "God has given me and @MissLanishaCole the privilege of hosting an Angel here on earth. I vow to protect, provide, guide, and love this child to the best of my abilities," Nick wrote on Instagram. He's expected to welcomed two more children from two different women in the coming months as well. Lanisha is Nick's sixth different baby mama.

Dismal Emmy ratings
Did you watch the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards? It seems that no one did. According to Nielsen, viewership dropped to a record low, with just 5.9 million tuning in to watch — which is about 1.5 million fewer than the 2021 ceremony. Oof! The ratings this year were even lower than they were for the 2020 ceremony that took place just months into the coronavirus pandemic and scored 6.1 million viewers — the previous record low.
Marriage trouble
Tom Brady is better at escaping sacks than he is marriage trouble speculation. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback and his wife, supermodel Gisele Bundchen, are having "marital" issues and "living separately," a source told CNN on Sept. 15. The report came just a few days after Elle published its October 2022 cover story in which Gisele said she wants her husband to be happy, but she has her concerns about his line of work. "This is a very violent sport, and I have my children and I would like him to be more present," she explained. "I have definitely had those conversations with him over and over again. But ultimately, I feel that everybody has to make a decision that works for [them]. He needs to follow his joy, too." In that same story, she patted herself on the back for the work she's done raising the two children they share, Benjamin, 12, and Vivian, 9. "I've done my part, which is [to] be there for [Tom]," she explained. "I moved to Boston [when he was playing for the Patriots], and I focused on creating a cocoon and a loving environment for my children to grow up in and to be there supporting him and his dreams. Seeing my children succeed and become the beautiful little humans that they are, seeing him succeed, and being fulfilled in his career — it makes me happy. At this point in my life, I feel like I've done a good job on that." Looking ahead, Gisele sees her own goals and plans on the horizon. "I feel very fulfilled in that way, as a mother and as a wife," she says. "And now it's going to be my turn. It's not like I'm going to be in the valley forever."

The actress announced her pregnancy by showing off her baby bump while attending the 10th Annual Forbes Power Women's Summit in New York City on Sept. 14. Blake and Ryan are already parents to daughters James, 7, Inez, 5, and Betty, 2.
Court matter
Cardi B has struck a plea deal in a case involving a bottle-throwing and chair-tossing incident in a New York strip club that took place in 2018. The rapper was accused of ordering her associated to assault two bartenders, one of whom she suspected was sleeping with her husband, Offset. TMZ reported that Cardi agreed to plead guilty to third-degree assault and reckless endangerment, both misdemeanors, and accept a punishment of 15 days of community service. "I've made some bad decisions in my past that I am not afraid to face and own up to," Cardi said in a statement.
Partnership over
The divide between Kanye West and Gap was too much in the end. After weeks of publicly fighting, Ye said on Sept. 14 that he and Gap were ending their partnership, which was set to expire in 2030. "Gap left Ye no choice but to terminate their collaboration agreement because of Gap's substantial noncompliance," the rapper's attorney said. Afterward, Gap confirmed the business split. "Simply put, while we share a vision of bringing high-quality, trend-forward, utilitarian design to all people through unique omni experiences with Yeezy Gap, how we work together to deliver this vision is not aligned," the clothing company's CEO said.
Rivalry renewed?
Britney Spears seemed to reignite her old pop rivalry with Christina Aguilera. On Sept. 12, the "Toxic" songstress posted a quote attributed to late comedian Rodney Dangerfield that read, "I found there was only one way to look thin: hang out with fat people." In her own adjacent caption, Brit took a swipe at Christina. "I wish I could have chosen the nannies for my children … my dancers … I mean if I had Christina Aguilera's dancers I would have looked extremely small," she wrote, adding three dancing lady emojis. "I mean why not talk about it ?? Don't you think my confidence would have been a bit better if I could choose where I lived, ate, whom I called on the phone, dated and who was on stage with me !!! It's hard sometimes now I see how much of my womanhood was stripped away at that time and every person sat back and didn't say a thing !!! Anyways … I will be here talking bout things people NEVER talked about!!!" After sharing the message, Christina unfollowed Britney on Instagram, and many of Brit's fans ripped her for body shaming. The following day, Britney said her words were misconstrued. "By no means was I being critical of Christina's beautiful body, it is what it is !!! I flew to see her show once and the main thing I noticed was the difference of our people on stage !!! By no means did I even mention Christina, look at my post !!!" Britney argued. "To be honest, I'm not trying to be critical of anybody. What I posted is a projection of the insecurities I deal with all the time as a result of how my parents and the media have treated me … I would never intentionally body shame anybody because I know what it feels like … I struggle with this because of how I feel about myself, not because I hate how anybody looks … I feel like my family knew I was insecure and people were trying to purposefully feed into this insecurity by not letting me have a choice in the people who were on stage with me. I appreciate you all being understanding with me as I figure out this new life I'm living !!!"
