Ireland Baldwin opens up about past sexual assault, abortion experiences
On TikTok over the weekend, Ireland Baldwin spoke candidly about her experience being sexually assaulted as a teen, an incident she said fueled years of trauma. She also opened up about an abortion she later had, explaining that the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade last week made her consider the detrimental effects having a child she wasn't prepared for might have been at a time when she was already struggling because of the rape. "Before I share what I am going to share, I don't feel that it is anybody's responsibility to talk about this if they don't feel comfortable .. I am only now sharing my story because I want other women to feel supported and loved, whether they want to share their own or not," said Ireland, 26, in the post. "I was raped when I was a teenager and I was completely unconscious when it happened and it changed the course of the rest of my life. … I kept that secret inside of me for years, and because I did, it caused a lot of hurt and a lot of pain to me and to people I love," she continued. Since she "harbored so much pain and so much guilt for so long," Ireland said she ultimately "lost control" of her life. "I drank a lot more, I partied a lot more, I self-medicated, I was in other abusive and toxic relationships and friendships. I pretty much just did everything I could to distract myself," she recalled. "Seeing so many other brave women share their stories got me thinking what my life would have been like if I had become pregnant and if I had to raise a baby during everything I was going through at the time. Mind you, I have medical resources, money and support that a lot of women do not have access to. It would've simply been traumatizing and impossible." Ireland said she was later in an "unhappy" relationship with a guy who "never wanted kids or marriage" when she accidentally became pregnant. "I chose to get an abortion because I know exactly what it felt like to be born between two people who hated each other," she said, referencing her parents, Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger's ugly split. She said she "maybe" could have kept the child and put it up for adoption. "But choosing to raise a baby without my own financial security, without a loving and supportive partner, that wasn't gonna work for me," Ireland explained. "I chose me, and I would choose me again. It's your life, it's your choice."

"We're basically 80 years old and 7 at the same time," Anya joked, "and it works really well."

Johnny Depp's rep addresses rumored $301M Disney, 'Pirates' deal: Report
A new report claiming Johnny Depp has a $301 million deal in the works to return to the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise is likely no more than a rumor, according to E! News. The claim surfaced Monday, June 27, via Australia's Poptopic website, which quoted an "industry insider" as saying "Disney is very interested in patching up their relationship" with Johnny after he won his defamation case against ex-wife, Amber Heard, earlier this month. "They are very hopeful that Johnny will forgive them and return as his iconic character," the source reportedly said. A few hours later, however, E! reported Johnny's rep dismissed the claim, telling NBC News it was "made up." Asked in May if Johnny could possibly reprise his Jack Sparrow role, "Pirates" producer Jerry Bruckheimer told The Sunday Times, "Not at this point. The future is yet to be decided." Johnny also confirmed during the trial against Amber that he has no interest in doing another "Pirates" movie.

From host Taraji P. Henson to the night's biggest winners, stars at the 2022 BET Awards on Sunday, June 26, used the show's platform to speak out about abortion and gun laws. Following the Supreme Court's recent decisions to end federal protection of abortion rights and expand the right to carry concealed firearms in public, Taraji tackled the reversal of Roe v. Wade early on in the show, following up Lizzo's performance of "About D*** Time" by telling the audience, "It's about d*** time we talk about the fact that guns have more rights than a woman. It's a sad day in America," according to NPR. The "Empire" star added a note of gratitude to Lizzo and Live Nation for pledging to donate a combined $1 million to Planned Parenthood, then added, "A weapon that can take lives has more power than a woman that can give life — if she chooses to." Later in the show, presenter Janelle Monae issued a direct "f*** you" to the nation's highest court using a certain finger. "These artists are making art on our own terms, owning our truths and expressing ourselves freely and unapologetically in a world that tries to control and police our bodies, my body and our decisions, my body," Janelle said, in part, earning a standing ovation before she introduced the nominees for best female R&B/pop artist. As Jazmine Sullivan accepted the award from Janelle, she urged fans to remember reproductive freedom is not a gender-specific issue. "I want to speak directly to the men: We need y'all," she said. "We need y'all to stand up, stand up for us, stand up with us. If you've ever benefitted from a woman making one of the toughest decisions of her life, which is to terminate a pregnancy, you need to be standing. This is not just a woman issue. This is everybody's issue. We need your support more than ever." Other big winners included Will Smith, who won best actor despite his now infamous Oscars slap, his film "King Richard," which won best movie, and Lifetime Achievement Award winner Diddy.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin recently gave an engaged couple an early musical wedding present at a "family pub" in England. As the owners of The Stag Inn in Hinton Charterhouse, Bath, revealed on social media in a video post on Monday, June 27, Chris was chatting with a bride and groom-to-be about their upcoming nuptials while sitting at a piano in the pub. With a pint of beer on the table beside him, Chris was apparently asked to play "A Sky Full of Stars" from Coldplay's 2021 album. He soon obliged and launched into the lines, "Cause you're a sky/ Oh, you're a sky full of stars/ I'm gonna give you my heart/ You get lighter the more it gets dark/ I don't care, go on and tear me apart/ I don't care if you do," according to Billboard. Alec Baldwin defends Woody Allen ahead of Instagram Live interview
Alec Baldwin professed his "love" for Woody Allen on Instagram ahead of his planned interview with the director, whose daughter, Dylan Farrow, has repeatedly alleged he molested her at age 7 — claims Woody's long denied. "I'm gonna be doing an Instagram Live with Woody Allen, who I love," Alec said in a video post on Sunday, June 26. "I love you, Woody," he added while showing viewers Woody's book "Zero Gravity." "Let me preface this by stating that I have ZERO INTEREST in anyone's judgments and sanctimonious posts here," Alec captioned the promo. "I am OBVIOUSLY someone who has my own set of beliefs and COULD NOT CARE LESS about anyone else's speculation." He added, "If you believe that a trial should be conducted by way of an HBO documentary, that's your issue." Alec was referring to HBO's series "Allen v. Farrow," which took an in-depth look at Dylan's claims of abuse, which she made amid Woody's 1992 split from Mia Farrow. After an investigation into the allegations, Woody was not charged. "It's so preposterous, and yet the smear has remained," the director said in a 2020 Paramount+ interview (via People). "They still prefer to cling to if not the notion that I molested Dylan, the possibility that I molested her. Nothing that I ever did with Dylan in my life could be misconstrued as that," he added. Alec worked with Woody on multiple films between 1990 and 2013, including "Blue Jasmine." Alec's interview airs on Instagram Live on Tuesday.
