Her whole presentation and 'brand' as a wife seem to have changed," she
claimed.

In Judi James' opinion, Meghan Markle adopted the role of "trophy wife" when she married Trevor Engelson, whom she divorced in 2014. When she married Prince Harry, however, she found herself a trophy husband.
Said James, "Trevor appears to be the main man and most important character in terms of group poses. But with Harry, there are signals of new confidence and equal status which have tilted with time into Meghan's favor. … If she was once the trophy wife, she now seems to display Harry and boast about him like the trophy husband."

Judi James thinks Meghan Markle appears "more in charge" in her marriage with Prince Harry, whom she wed in 2018. "She has always felt more confident about seeing her marriage to him as one for life," she observed. "Meghan's attachment rituals with Harry are industrial-strength, suggesting she is now a keeper and that she has formed a confident, life-long partnership."
