According to
ITV News royal editor
Chris Ship, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie likely find Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson's banishment from The Firm awkward to deal with. "The guidance from Buckingham Palace around Andrew was that Beatrice and Eugenie's position in the royal family was unaffected," he told
The Mirror. "Obviously, they shouldn't be held responsible for their father's missteps, but it must still be emotionally draining for them to see how he has been humiliated and had his reputation completely torn to shreds right across the world."

King Charles III stripped Sarah Ferguson and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor of their honors and evicted them from Royal Lodge due to their friendship with
Jeffrey Epstein along with the sexual abuse allegations against the former Duke of York. "His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew," the statement from Buckingham Palace
read. "Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease, and he will move to alternative private accommodation. These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him. Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse."

The situation has been difficult for Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, who are incredibly close with the royal family. Instead of spending Christmas with Sarah Ferguson and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the sisters decided to be at Sandringham with their relatives. "They live and die by the monarchy, so this didn't surprise me at all. Andrew and Sarah would have 1,000 percent supported it," a source told
People.

According to royal expert
Ingrid Seward, King Charles III,
Prince William and other senior members of The Firm want to protect Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. "I think that Charles feels quite responsible for these two girls, because it's been a hideous time for them. Really hideous," she told
The Sun. "I know they've got supportive husbands, but they've both got young children, and I think it's been very, very difficult."

Despite rumors of a rift, Princess Eugenie is standing by Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. "It is completely untrue that she has cut him off," an insider told
The Sun. "She has seen him several times this year and is supportive. She is there for her father whenever he needs her."
