Prince William admitted to recently struggling in his personal life. "I'd say 2024 was the hardest year I've ever had. You know, life is sent to test us … and being able to overcome that is what makes us who we are," he
told the Emmy winner over drinks at a pub in Windsor.

In March 2024,
Kate Middleton publicly shared that she'd been diagnosed with cancer. In the following months, the Princess of Wales underwent chemotherapy. "As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment," Kate said in a September 2024 video
message. "The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life, as you know, it can change in an instant, and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown." In January 2025, the mother of three announced that she was officially in remission.

One month before Kate Middleton shared her cancer news, Buckingham Palace announced that
King Charles III was also battling the disease. "During the king's recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer," a February 2024 statement read. "His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties. Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake state business and official paperwork as usual." The monarch was
hospitalized in March for "temporary side effects that required a short period of observation in hospital" as a result of his treatment plan, which he's kept private so far.

Prince William navigates his loved ones' health challenges, his relationship with
Prince Harry remains strained. "Their relationship is at
an all-time low," a source said of the brothers. "It's as if something has pushed William even further away from the prospect of a reconciliation. He is adamant that he wants nothing to do with his brother. He is more upset with him than ever."
