Marvel is making its big comeback with
The Fantastic Four: First Steps as the film attracts audiences from across the globe. The Marvel movie snagged $118 million at the U.S. box office during its opening weekend, and according to reports, it's now the fourth biggest film opening of 2025.

While previous versions of Fantastic Four failed to reach critical acclaim, The Fantastic Four: First Steps was celebrated by both critics and viewers. "This is a Fantastic Four movie that finally figures out why the team works – not because they're the strongest or the smartest, but because they're messy, human and weirdly functional in the face of total annihilation," Ben Child wrote in The Guardian's review.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps isn't the only superhero movie that recently exceeded expectations, as James Gunn's Superman has earned $500 million so far at the global box office. "The whole notion of superhero fatigue — which has been talked about a lot — can, I think, be put to rest. I always say it's bad movie fatigue, not superhero fatigue," Senior Media Analyst for Comscore Paul Dergarabedian told NBC News of the genre's recent success.
