White House Alleges $50 Million Dollars Was Earmarked for Gaza Condoms
In a stunning claim, the White House alleged that Joe Biden's administration planned to allocate $50 million dollars in taxpayer money for condom distribution in Gaza.Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt revealed the supposed expenditure during her debut press conference, calling it "a preposterous waste of taxpayer money."
She stated that the discovery was made through a government efficiency initiative led by "First Bro" Elon Musk, tasked with identifying and eliminating unnecessary spending.

Former Biden Official Calls Claim 'Outlandish'
Andrew Miller, a former senior Biden administration official specializing in Israeli-Palestinian affairs, dismissed the accusation as absurd. "It's possible that $50 million was put aside for sexual health or something of that nature, but definitely not condoms alone," he told The Times of Israel.Miller criticized the lack of evidence provided by the White House as "outlandish" and suggested the claim was politically motivated rather than rooted in factual budgeting.
A political analyst on Bluesky agreed, "Not sure why this is news. It's the Trump White House playbook with their press secretaries. Sean Spicer having to twist the truth about the 2017 inauguration crowd size is example one of hundreds from the first s— show."
Musk's Role in Exposing Alleged Spending
Musk's new Department of Government Efficiency has been at the forefront of uncovering what the White House describes as "wasteful" spending from prior administrations.Leavitt claimed his team's initiative, along with the Office of Management and Budget, identified the funding just in time to halt it. While Musk has not personally commented on the matter, his government efficiency program already sparked controversy over its sweeping review of federal spending.
Social Media Weighs In
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) spent approximately $60 million dollars worldwide in 2023 on various contraceptive methods, including injectables, implants, IUDs and condoms. However, this was a global figure, not a targeted expenditure for Gaza. Critics argue that the administration is "misrepresenting" reproductive health funding and that it is highly unlikely that such a large sum was specifically designated for Gaza's condom distribution alone. Social media is having its say as well.
"Even in Biden's wildest cognitive slips, nobody would have let something like this go through since it would have tanked his re-election," an X commenter quipped.
Another pointed out, "Yeah, this is low-hanging fruit for the MAGA trailer trolls more hung up on trans people in bathrooms instead of supermarket prices."
War-Torn Gaza Faces Greater Crises
With Gaza devastated by a 15-month-long war, analysts question the feasibility of such a program even if it had been planned.Nearly all of Gaza suffered heavy destruction, and residents are struggling with shortages of food, water and medical supplies. "The idea that $50 million in American taxpayer money was about to be spent solely on condoms in a war zone is beyond belief," one critic noted.
The controversy has lit yet another match in a 1.5-week political firestorm since Donald Trump took office again, with demands for evidence to support the claim.
"You know, during Trump's first term, so many were just dumbfounded by the illogical claims coming out," a political historian shared on Facebook. "We had never seen anything like it before. What's great about now is that we all know the lies and smear campaign tactics, so it's great to see the media and the people not wasting a second to drown out the falsehoods."
