According to one report, for years now, the U.S. military has "unilaterally referred to the Persian Gulf as the Arabian Gulf in statements and images it releases."_
Google Maps and Apple Maps are still referring to the body of water as the "Persian Gulf." It's unclear if or when they'll institute the name change.Donald Trump's administration previously took action against outlets that failed to change their style guide to reflect the Gulf of Mexico being renamed the Gulf of America.
