Paddington producers are more than a little displeased with the way the iconic bear was depicted on a recent episode of a satirical puppet show that also mocked
Prince Harry. They're suing the show for portraying the character — which originated in a series of children's books — in an unflattering light.

StudioCanal, which produced the
Paddington movies, is
suing the British company Avalon, which produces the satirical YouTube series
Spitting Image, over a sketch in which Paddington is depicted as a foul-mouthed drug addict cohosting a podcast alongside a greedy Prince Harry.

"I'm here to tell my truth and make a s*** ton of money out of podcasting as I don't have any discernible talent," the Prince Harry puppet says in the sketch, referencing the Duke of Sussex's controversial memoir Spare and subsequent failed media ventures alongside wife Meghan Marke. (Harry is not taking legal action against the show.)

The royal family has been photographed numerous times with Paddington Bear over the years. The children's character appeared in
a video to celebrate
Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022, and in 2017,
Kate Middleton famously danced with Paddington at a charity event.
