According to officials from the Clearwater Fire Department and Clearwater Police Department, a 911 call was placed from Hulk Hogan's Florida home on the day of his death. In photos from the scene, yellow police tape can be seen blocking off the property as authorities keep onlookers and fans at a distance from the residence._
"The nature of the call was for a cardiac arrest," said a spokesperson for the Clearwater Police Department. "A 71-year-old resident, Terry Bollea, also known as Hulk Hogan, was treated by Clearwater Fire [and] Rescue crews before being taken by Sunstar to Morton Plant Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased."_
In the weeks leading up to Hulk Hogan's death, close friend Jimmy Hart said he appeared to be in good health. Just days before his passing, they had reportedly gone out for karaoke with friends and family. However, concerns about Hogan's health had surfaced months earlier. In May, he underwent a neck surgery that his reps described as a "minor fusion procedure" to help him "feel a little better."_
The surgery followed Hulk Hogan's appearance on Fox & Friends, where he promoted his new wrestling venture, Real American Freestyle. During the interview, fans noted he appeared noticeably frail and raised questions about his overall well-being. Wearing a shirt that read "America First, Beer Second," Hogan told viewers his new league would bring back "real, unscripted freestyle wrestling."_
Hulk Hogan had been open over the years about the lasting pain from his decades in the wrestling ring. He spoke candidly about undergoing 25 surgical procedures — including multiple back surgeries, which led to an addiction to painkillers. "I was hitting the pain pills hard," he once admitted, according to RadarOnline.com, detailing the toll his wrestling career had taken on his body._
Tributes to Hulk Hogan poured in from across the wrestling world in the wake of his death. Among the many voices, Dwayne Johnson shared a heartfelt message to honor his former colleague. "To millions of little kids you were a childhood hero – myself included," The Rock wrote. "Thank you for the house, brother… Thank you, for the house."_
Fans in Clearwater, Florida, gathered outside Hulk Hogan's restaurant to mourn the wrestling icon. According to RadarOnline.com, chants of "Hogan! Hogan! Hogan!" erupted among diners, while his WWE entrance theme played from a nearby beach. "He was great. He was a great man. We are all shocked here. No one expected this to happen," one hostess said._
A giant bobblehead of Hulk Hogan became a memorial for fans who visited the restaurant. Throughout the day, supporters left flowers at its base, paying tribute to the wrestling star who defined an era.
