Talk about the ultimate neighborly gesture! As Beyonce and JAY-Z prepare to close on a new property in the fancy schmancy Los Angeles area of Bel-Air, their would-be next door neighbor is seeing dollar signs for the first time in two years.
TMZ reported that Bey and Jay are about to close escrow on a $100 million mansion in Bel-Air. Interestingly, the home next door to them has been on the market since 2015 and few people have been serious about buying it, thanks, in part, to the outdoor layout.
The driveway is narrow and goes downhill, which buyers don't particularly like (and for the listing price of $18 million, buyers want perfection).
Now, though, listing agents think that that property is a steal for $18 million because of the famous soon-to-be residents of the adjacent property.
As they say in Hollywood, it's all about who you know… or apparently who your neighbors are!
Last month, it was reported that the parents to three were struggling to find a home that they loved that was within their $75 million price range.
The superstar couple is currently living in a massive 6.3 million-acre spread in Malibu, Calif., and they're forking over $400,000 a month for it. But, that property is just a rental and they have no intention on staying there once summer ends.
"They want a super baller, crazy estate, and the ones they love are going for $150 [million,]" a source told TMZ in June.
The couple, who Forbes estimates to be worth $1.16 billion, is expected to leave their luxurious rental at the end of August, just before their 5-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, begins school. Meanwhile, all signs point to the couple setting up permanent roots in Bel-Air.
Memo to all multi-millionaires, for the bargain basement price of $18 million, you could have one-degree of separation from a bonafide power couple.
