"We begin tonight with what I think is the question. When you are in the midst of a crisis and specifically a crisis of democracy, how do you resist? When fascism isn't just coming, it's already here?" Reid stated at the top of the episode.
"So, what, if anything, can you do about it?" she continued to ask. "For one thing, you can try to learn from history, from what people in this situation, in countries around the world and in America have done before. As my friend Rachel Maddow always says, history is here to help."
She noted that the "first rule is to fight back" and "never stop resisting."
"Do not obey in advance, as [anti-Trump historian] Tim Snyder put it… Even if it's scary or, uncomfortable or inconvenient, just keep saying no. Or finding creative ways to say no in small ways and large," she stated.

News broke on Sunday, February 23, that the network decided to cancel Reid's show and Alex Wagner's nightly series. MSNBC boss Rebecca Kutler held a meeting with employees following the shocking update to let them know they had been laid off.
"Staffers expressed frustration and disbelief, outraged that they had learned of their show's fate from reports in the press rather than leadership," reporter Oliver Darcy for Status claimed.
Despite the bold move, the executive clarified that "Donald Trump was not a factor" in the company's shake-up.

The Reid Report alum addressed the cancelation during a Sunday night call with the organization Win With Black Women, where she admitted she felt "anger, rage, disappointment, hurt" over the news.
"I am not sorry I stood up for those things because those things are of God," she noted about going "hard" on progressive issues. "And you know, I'm a church girl too and those are the things that I was taught were of God. So, I'm not sorry. I'm just proud of my show."
The leader of the nation expressed his joy in seeing Reid's slot taken off the air in a wild post shared to his Truth Social account.

"'Lowlife Chairman of 'Concast,' Brian Roberts, the owner of Ratings Challenged NBC and MSDNC, has finally gotten the nerve up to fire one of the least talented people in television, the mentally obnoxious racist, Joy Reid. Based on her ratings, which were virtually non-existent, she should have been 'canned' long ago, along with everyone else who works there," Trump penned.
The former reality star then went in on the other women on the left-leaning network. "Also thrown out was Alex Wagner, the sub on the seriously failing Rachel Maddow show," he continued.
"Rachel rarely shows up because she knows there's nobody watching and she also knows that she's got less television persona than virtually anyone on television except, perhaps, Joy Reid," Trump wrote.

In a public statement shared to BlueSky, Reid addressed the end of her time at MSNBC.
"I just want to say thank you to everyone who has reached out with kindness and encouragement, both personally and in these social media streets. So very proud of The ReidOut team, who are truly family and all of our supporters and friends. See you tomorrow night at 7, one more time," she said.
