During his speech,
Prince Harry compared his relatives to another famously drama-prone family. "People sometimes ask if growing up with the royal family was a bit like [the
Julian Fellowes show]
Downton Abbey. Yeah. But only one of those worlds is filled with drama, intrigue, elaborate dinners, marriages to Americans… and the other is a TV show," he said.

Prince Harry went on to joke about his relocation from England to the United States, comparing his move to American Independence. "It's a new world to me, celebrating independence from Britain and, more specifically, independence from my great, great, great, great, great-great-grandfather," he said, adding, "But, look, I don't take it personally — and nor should you. But it does feel oddly reminiscent."

Prince Harry continued of how early settlers brought a touch of England to the United States, "After all, we were able to leave our mark in other ways — mostly just through originally naming places after towns and cities back home. … Boston, Massachusetts and Lincolnshire, Manchester, New Hampshire and England, Birmingham, Alabama and England, Richmond, Virginia and England. I've never quite understood why they did that. It surely can't be because it reminded them of their hometowns."

Prince Harry also showcased his sense of humor during an appearance on
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. While pretending to be interested in auditioning for a Hallmark movie about a Christmas prince, the
Spare author trolled President
Donald Trump. When
Stephen Colbert asked why Harry wanted to be in the film, the 41-year-old replied, "You Americans are obsessed with Christmas movies, and you're clearly obsessed with royalty, so why not?" The host refuted the claim, prompting Harry to reply, "Really? I hear you elected a king."

Royal expert
Richard Fitzwilliams recently told
Daily Express that
Prince Harry is "bound to have very deep regrets" as he gears up to spend the holidays across the pond from his estranged (and undoubtedly drama-prone) family. "The state of
King Charles III's health is bound to add to them," Fitzwilliams noted, referencing the monarch's cancer battle.

As for
Prince Harry's relationship with
Prince William, chances of reconciliation are slim. "Their relationship is at an all-time low," a source told
Vanity Fair in September. "It's as if something has pushed William even further away from the prospect of a reconciliation. He is adamant that he wants nothing to do with his brother. He is more upset with him than ever."
